Pay gaps broken down by county analysis

In case of net wages the pay gap between men's and women's wages reaches or exceeds 20% in Budapest (20%), Győr-Moson-Sopron (20%), Pest (24%), Vas (21%) and Zala counties (21%), as well as in Heves county (31%). In case of monthly net county average wages the pay gap is the smallest in Veszprém, Tolna and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties (6-6%), in Fejér county (8%), and in Tolna and Nógrád counties (9-9%). In Budapest the net pay gap is 20%.


As we can see the regional wage differences are significant within genders as well. The wages of women in Tolna county are only slightly higher than the half of the wages of women in Budapest, whereas the net wages of women living in Szabolcs, Nógrád and Hajdú-Bihar county do not reach the 70% of the wages of women in Budapest.
